What #SperryLoves This Week: November 21

Thanksgiving is almost here, and as a company we wanted to extend a giant thank you to all of our customers and event partners who rely on us to create memorable outdoor occasions. We really do enjoy being a part of your family and business milestones, and feel honored to be included from coast to coast and now around the world.

Here in the U.S., while you are winding down your work week and thinking about recipes, grocery lists, new wines to try and when to cross that line and start listening to holiday music, we hope you’ll take a minute to check out some inspiring news from our provider family, plus some general fun reads around the Internet.

For starters, you’re going to want to start following us on Instagram. We have some fun surprises lined up for December, including a giveaway of a handmade sailcloth tote by sister company Sperry Sails, more behind-the-scenes photos of how our tents and poles are made, and a secret guest grammer who will take over the account one fine day.

Our Texas provider, Whim Hospitality, has just opened a new showroom in mid-town Austin. Located at 1804 W. 35th Street, the showroom will bring the Dripping Springs-based company’s suite of event services (tents, catering and florals too!) closer to its Austin clients. Speaking of Whim, Annie Atkinson, founder of online beauty powerhouse She’s in the Glow, got married in Tulsa at the Philbrook Museum of Art, and Vogue.com covered all the details. From our friends at Style Me Pretty, this Oklahoma City backyard wedding endured four inches of rain right before the ceremony started, but the resulting umbrella and wellie images more than make up for a little grey overhead.

And on Snippet and Ink, another rainy outdoor wedding with a Sperry. This one was at Estancia Culinaria in Redland, Florida, with a setup by Sperry Tents Miami. It’s equally charming – we are now officially in love with umbrellas at weddings.
